It is without doubt that schools need specialized equipments (i.e. CRO, Ripple Tanks, robotics kits, Binocular Microscopes etc.) to be a role model in STEM. However, it is important to note that equipment and materials alone is not enough without a STEM culture for a school to be regarded as an Inviting and Magnetic STEM School.
So far immense resources has been committed to schools by government and partners ( i.e. NGOs, Development partners etc.) to and make them magnetic. A good example is the provision of high value equipments and resources for teaching and learning ( i.e. laptops, projectors, microscopes etc) to the 102 STEM Schools by the Centre for Mathematics, Science and Technology Education in Africa (CEMASTEA). Without such support it would be difficult for schools to mobilize resources on their own to acquire them yet they are very critical for providing learners quality experience.
MUSPPA2STEM will work with partners ( local and internationals) and encourage them to consider to continue providing this kind of support to schools. Care will be taken to ensure that the support is acceptable, desirable and of high standards.
